About Serie A 2022-2023

The Italian football league system as we know today was formed during the 1929/1930 season by merging regional groups and leagues. Since the 1924–25 season, the winning title team of the Serie A will bear a small coat of arms with the Italian tricolour on their strip in the following season. Juventus are the current league title holders as well as most domestically successful club with 33 league titles. This fact has often brought criticism to the Serie A as it's often perceived to be a one-horse race for Juventus since the early 2010s. Napoli and Milan have given a sizable challenge for Juventus in domestic cup competitions but is still having difficulty dethroning Juventus in the league.

Serie A is a football domestic league competition held annually in Italy. The current Serie A season is 2022/23. Serie A is the 1st division in Italy. This means that the league is 1st in the domestic pyramid. 380 matches are currently scheduled in total, and so far 10 fixtures have been completed with 34 goals have been scored in aggregate. 20 teams are competing for the title this season.
